News in Toy
We will take this page to post news in the toy theater world, so
stop by once in a while to see what has been happening!
Gigi Sandberg, a model theater enthusiast and promoter, passed
away February 4, 2009, one week before her 83rd birthday.
We never had the opportunity to meet her in person, but
enjoyed knowing her by emails, phone, and by her exhibit in
Florida and their web site. Her enthusiasm for model theater
inspired many of us, and we appreciate the Sandbergs'
promotion of this art form and their website
Toy Theatre Company.

The 2007 Preetz Paper Theater Meeting is over, but you can see
scenes from performances on their web site! Click on one of the photos
and you can go through a slide show and see some wonderful ideas, and
the wide variety of styles and techniques. Don't Miss This!
2005 Oldfux Model Theater
Brink Abrahamsen, a professional model theater performer and member
of Svalegangens Dukketeater in
Aarhus, Denmark, was
awarded the fourth annual Oldfux award for outstanding contribution
to model theater. In addition to his many talents and contributions,
Mr. Abrahamsen and
Søren Mortensen have a paper theater web site, and they are
building a data base of original Alfred Jacobsen sheets, which will
be a valuable resource. Please visit it at:
Previous Oldfux Award winners are:
2002 - Poul Andersen
2003 - Poul Rademacher (see below)
2004 - Preben Harris
